India May Get Tariff Exemption, White House Advisor Makes Big Offer

In an interview with Bloomberg Television's Balance of Power, White House adviser Peter Navarro, referring to the India-influenced conflict, said the road to peace "to some extent runs through New Delhi.

Navarro's remarks come at a time when a 50% tariff imposed by President Donald Trump on Indian goods took effect on Wednesday. This move has been taken to punish India for continuing to buy Russian crude oil despite Western pressure.

India may get 25% off tomorrow

When asked if the US was in talks with India and if there was any possibility of adjusting the tariffs, White House adviser Peter Navarro replied, "It's really simple. India can get a 25% discount tomorrow if it stops buying Russian oil and helps run the war machine." He also said, "I am surprised. Because Modi is a great leader. This is a mature democracy, and it is run by mature people."

According to Bloomberg, Navarro expressed disappointment with India's stance on tariffs, saying, "What bothers me is that the Indians are very arrogant about this. They say, 'Oh, we don't have high tariffs. Oh, it's our sovereignty. We can buy oil from whoever we want.

Accused of providing financial aid for the war

Navarro accused India of funding Moscow's war effort. "By buying oil from Russia at a low price, Russia uses the money to power its war machine and kill more Ukrainians," he said. Everyone in the US loses because of what India is doing, he added. It also costs the US economy, he argued: "Consumers, businesses, and everything suffer, and workers suffer because we lose jobs, factories, incomes, and higher wages because of India's high tariffs. And then taxpayers suffer because we have to finance Modi's war."

He further said, "The money India earns by selling goods to us is used to buy Russian oil, which is then processed by refiners, and they earn a lot of money there." The Russians use this money to make weapons and kill Ukrainians.
